Description of Project: An effort to establish a youth counterpart to Huntington City Council. Youth will run for election in their district and be mentored by the City Council person in their district. This effort will build leadership skills and ensure that youth voices are heard in City Government.

Description of Project: Equip city buses with bicycle carriers so that folks in outlying areas such as Pea Ridge and Barboursville will be encouraged to bring their bikes in town without driving to ride to work, shop or enjoy local entertainment. Employers should be encouraged to provide bike racks for their employees. Healthy employees are in a better frame of mind, work harder and have less sick time off. It's not only the cost of gasoline but also our general health that is of concern.

This group will brainstorm new ideas, identify existing opportunities (the Pullman stage, for example), work through practical issues, and organize people and resources in order to make each idea a reality. Huntington's diverse local talent will bring a fresh sense of "creative culture" to the city. Additionally, this group will brainstorm how to make Huntington residents more aware of music and entertainment that already exists.

The gallery would also have two working studios that would be supported by the Tri-State Arts Association and The Ohio Valley Camera Club. The gallery would help promote tourism by pulling art and photography enthusiast into the city. The gallery would operate similar to Tamerac but on a much smaller scale.
